Chong Lai-kit (Chinese Journalism, Year 3) and Kei Sze-ching (Broadcast Journalism, Year 3) won the Student Chinese Merit award at the 19th Annual Human Rights Press Awards jointly organised by Amnesty International Hong Kong, the Foreign Correspondents’ Club, Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Journalists Association, with their report entitled “Minority Groups in Hong Kong Don’t Have Equal Employment Rights” in San Po Yan, the publication produced by the students of the Department of Journalism.
Both students were grateful for the editorial freedom granted by the Department of Journalism to San Po Yan as well as the guidance of faculty members of the department, especially the two advisors to San Po Yan, Mr To Yiu-ming, Assistant Professor, and Mr Wong Tin-chi, Senior Lecturer.
